About The Nesbitt Group

The Nesbitt Group of Companies was established in 1973 by our Founder Digby Nesbitt. The company had humble beginnings with Digby and his friend Dale Barrett purchasing an old second hand truck to start a transport business in the sugar cane town of Chiredzi. Soon after, Dale decided to move to the United States, and Digby bought his share of the business.

Digby was a natural entrepreneur, he built an impressive empire over the years, venturing into sugar cane farming, crocodile farming, ranching, furniture manufacturing, bakeries, breweries, hospitality, manufacture of Swedish Snus and investments into real estate to name a few. In 2013, Digby stepped down as CEO.

Digby remained Chairman of the Board until his untimely passing in August 2021 at the age of 69. Today the company is run by Digby’s son, Rory who joined the company in 1999 and has a great team of professionals, managers, and highly trained staff compliment, who are all highly motivated and focused on the real estate and hospitality sectors.

The Nesbitt Group of Companies has investments in commercial, industrial and residential properties in Chiredzi, Bulawayo, Harare and Victoria Falls. Our real estate division buys, sells and manages its own industrial, commercial, and residential properties throughout Zimbabwe.

We believe in a mutually beneficial working relationship with our tenants, and as such we have 94% average letting rate, and 3% debtors outstanding. We pride ourselves in getting extremely high quality tenants and working closely with them to ensure they have a great rental space to do business.

We use cutting edge cloud based software for “e” leasing, triangular communication between Landlord, Tenant and Service Provider for maintenance. Our commercial and residential lease agreements are tried and tested over thirty years and have been refined to cater for all occasions in Zimbabwe.
